Hello! Welcome to Middle ELA!

Parents/Guardians,
My name is Ms. Marisa Bishop, and I am currently in my 5th year of teaching. I graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with my Bachelor's of Science in Secondary English Education in 2016. I am currently in my Master's program in Literacy and Library Sciences through the University of Kentucky. I will graduate December 2021. I am also completing my Gifted and Talented endorsement for the 2020-21 school year.

I have such a passion for the middle grades; in my opinion, it's the perfect age! You can still have some fun with this age while also preparing them for the rigor of high school.
In my "free time," I work-out regularly, read, and spend time with my family and friends.
My objectives for your children include but are not limited to:
  • Learn how to enjoy reading
  • Become organized so as to manage their assignments on their own
  • Gain confidence in themselves and in their learning
  • Learn higher-level skills: analyze, evaluate, create
  • Write a well-organized, effective essay for the TDA component of SC Ready
  • Collaborate effectively with others
  • Have respect for self and others
