Swine Flu Update

Dear Parents:

We wanted to keep you informed about the H1N1 – Swine Flu issue.  We now have four confirmed cases of BWA Students with H1N1.  Bridgewater Academy’s policy concerning H1N1 is as follows:

·        If a student is running a fever they should be kept home until they are fever free for at least 24hours without the aid of medication.

·        Students will be excused for the day(s) they miss with a doctor’s note if the student is out 2 or more days if H1N1 symptoms are prevalent.

·        Seek medical advice if symptoms of H1N1 are present.

Symptoms include (according to DHEC)

  • Fever (usually high)
  • Headache
  • Extreme tiredness
  • Dry cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Muscle aches

  • Occasionally, stomach symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea

Please contact us if you have any additional questions or concerns.
